Which Frogg Toggs model, if any
Who Frogg Toggs is
Frogg Toggs describes itself as a company that keeps people comfortable outdoors, and its About page says it has been going for 29 years without giving a founding date. A 2007 trade article called it a family-owned company out of Guntersville, Alabama, whose rainsuits used a lightweight nonwoven polypropylene fabric and which sold through more than 1,000 US retail outlets. That is the only outside source on the company I could open, it is almost twenty years old, and I wouldn't lean on it for current facts. Today the site lists rainwear, waders and wadewear, wading boots, cooling products, footwear, bags and packs, clothing and pet rainwear.
Waders are one product category among many, which helps explain the breadth of what is on Amazon and why the specs vary so much between models.
What Frogg Toggs sells on Amazon US now
At our last check (October 2026) the table above lists 40 products. The mix is 17 waders, 9 wading boots, shoes and hip boots, 3 wading jackets, 3 belts and slings, 2 wader socks and 6 packs, vests and chest packs. There are no Frogg Toggs fly rods, reels or lines in our data. If a spec shows a dash, it isn't confirmed. "Listing" means the Amazon page says so and the maker's page doesn't.
The wader lines and who they suit
Hellbender and Canyon: breathable stockingfoot. These are the fishing waders. In our data the Hellbender stockingfoot chest wader, the Hellbender PRO chest wader, the Canyon II chest wader and the women's Canyon chest wader list four layers, 4 mm neoprene booties and gravel guards. The Hellbender PRO and the Hellbender chest model list reinforced knees; the Canyon II chest wader doesn't in our data. There is also a Hellbender Stockingfoot Guide Pant, which is waist-high, and a Canyon II hip wader. Stockingfoot means the wader ends in a neoprene sock and you wear a separate wading boot over it. That suits walking and gives you a choice of sole. If you walk rivers, this is the family I'd start with, and the stockingfoot waders and breathable waders pages put it beside others.
Hellbender PRO bootfoot. The Hellbender PRO Bootfoot Lug Sole chest wader is a breathable, four-layer wader with a lug rubber sole and reinforced knees, listed for general fishing. It suits a person who wants one piece to put on and doesn't plan to hike far.
Amphib: neoprene. The Amphib line uses 3.5 mm neoprene. The cleated bootfoot and the Mossy Oak Bottomland version list cleated rubber soles and reinforced knees, with boot insulation of 200 g and 600 g respectively. The women's Amphib has 200 g boots and shoe sizes 4 to 10. The stockingfoot Amphib has gravel guards and no boot. Neoprene is warm, and it is stiff and doesn't breathe. It suits cold, still water and hunting, and I'd not choose it for a walking river in summer. The neoprene waders page lists others.
Rana, Cascades, Brush Hogg: PVC and nylon. These are simple waterproof waders. The Rana II is a hip wader in nylon and PVC, the Rana PVC Lug Sole is a chest wader, the Rana Lightweight Emergency Wader is a stockingfoot nylon and PVC wader, and the Brush Hogg is a heavy-duty nylon bootfoot hip wader with cleated rubber soles. The Cascades 2-Ply is a rubber bootfoot chest wader with a felt or cleated sole option. These are in the category the frogg toggs buying guide calls budget-friendly, easy to clean and waterproof. They are simple tools: tough on a muddy bank, heavy, and not breathable.
Grand Refuge 3.0: hunting. A breathable bootfoot wader for hunting with a removable 120 g quilted liner, 1200 g boots, four layers and reinforced knees.
Boots, jackets, belts, socks and packs
Wading boots. The Hellbender, Pilot II, Rana, Rana Elite and Deep Current are lace-up wading boots or shoes, mostly with a felt or rubber sole option, and the women's Hellbender and Rana Elite come in women's sizes 5 to 10. The Aransas Surf and Sand is a wet-wading shoe with a 5 mm neoprene upper and a rubber sole. The Classic II is a hip boot with a vulcanized rubber upper. Our wading boots page puts them next to other makers.
Jackets. The Tekk Toad is a wading jacket with chest pockets sized for fly boxes. The FTX Elite lists three layers with a 20,000 mm waterproof rating and 20,000 g breathability, and the FTX Lite lists 2.5 layers with 10,000 for each. Those are the maker's figures and no standard or lab is named, so read them as claims. See wading jackets.
Belts and socks. There are two wading belts, one of them 1.5 inches wide, and a Tidal Sling with a waterproof utility box. The neoprene wading booties list 3.5 mm and a gravel guard, and the Coolmax wader sock is a synthetic knit per the listing. See wading belts and wader socks.
Packs and vests. Two vests, the Cascades Classic50 (13 pockets) and the Hellbender ToadSkinz (16 pockets), and four slings and chest packs in water-resistant Cordura or ripstop. The pack versus vest guide helps you choose.
Sizing and fit
Frogg Toggs' buying guide says to measure your chest, waist, hip and inseam, note your shoe size and follow the manufacturer's chart, and the company publishes size charts on its site. Bootfoot waders in our data list shoe sizes 7 to 14, with a Husky cut for larger builds on the Amphib line, and the women's Amphib lists 4 to 10. The Rana II hip wader lists sizes from 3 to 13. The guide also notes that bootfoot waders have no laces to adjust, so fit matters more with them.
I have not read enough buyer feedback on Frogg Toggs fit to summarise it. Check the maker's size chart, and read the fit notes on the listing for your pair. Stockingfoot sizing has a second step: choose your wading boot first, in a size big enough for the neoprene bootie, then choose the wader. Our Frogg Toggs wader size chart guide goes through the measuring, and the general wader size chart guide covers other makers.
Felt or rubber
The frogg toggs buying guide says felt grips slick river rocks well, wears down over time and is banned in some states, because the soles can spread invasive species. Check the rules where you fish, and read the felt versus rubber guide before you pick a felt option. A rubber sole is the safe default if you travel.
Warranty
Frogg Toggs' wader warranty runs one year from the original purchase date. You register within 30 days using the QR code on the hangtag or the website, and you keep the receipt, because returns need it even when you registered. Accepted items are repaired or replaced at the company's discretion, a repair or replacement keeps the balance of the original year, and the company does not refund used products. Wear and tear, damage not caused by a defect, improper or commercial use, abuse, accidents, unauthorized repair, modification and improper care are excluded. The waders you return should be clean and dry, and the page says the company tests them in a positive-pressure submersion tank. If it finds no defect after several tests, the item is sent back without a remedy.
Footwear carries a shorter 60-day warranty on the page. The rainwear section lists tiers from 30 days to lifetime, and the page doesn't say where wading jackets fall. I couldn't confirm warranty terms for the wading belts, socks and packs.
One year is short compared with some makers in this niche, which list two to four years or a lifetime term, and that is worth weighing. You can compare on the waders page, where the warranty column sits in the table.
Care
Rinse the wader after each trip, hang it upside down to dry out of direct sun, and store it loose. Gary stored a wet wader in a duffel for a weekend and opened the bag on Monday. Gary now smells like the bottom of a pond, and so does the duffel. Our guides on cleaning waders, storing waders and finding a leak cover it, and wader repair covers patching.
Wear a belt
Waders don't float, and water that gets in through the top is heavy. In moving or deep water, wear a snug belt over a chest wader, use a wading staff in current, and turn back if the river is higher or colder than you expected. Frogg Toggs sells wading belts, and any snug one does the job.
Choosing within the range
Walk rivers: Hellbender or Canyon, stockingfoot, with a separate boot. Stand in cold still water or hunt: Amphib neoprene or the Grand Refuge. Wet banks and shallow water when you want the simplest option: Rana hip waders, with the limit that they are not made for wading deep. Pick the model that matches the water, and then check the warranty column.

Questions about Frogg Toggs
What is the Frogg Toggs waders warranty?
Frogg Toggs' warranty page gives its waders one year from the original purchase date. You register within 30 days of purchase (a QR code on the hangtag or the website), and returns need the original receipt even if you registered. The company repairs or replaces at its discretion, and a repaired or replaced item keeps the rest of the original year. It does not refund used products. Normal wear, commercial use, abuse, accidents, unauthorized repair and improper care are excluded. Footwear carries a shorter 60-day warranty.
Are Frogg Toggs waders any good?
It depends on the model and what you ask of it. I haven't read enough buyer feedback to summarise a verdict, so I'll stick to the specs. The Hellbender and Canyon waders list four layers, neoprene booties and gravel guards, which is a sensible set of features for walking a river. The PVC and nylon models are simple waterproof waders for light use. The one-year warranty is short next to some other makers, so factor that in.
What is the difference between Hellbender and Canyon waders?
Both are breathable stockingfoot waders in our data, with four layers, 4 mm neoprene booties and gravel guards. Hellbender is the line that includes the PRO chest wader, a bootfoot lug-sole version and a waist-high guide pant. Canyon II comes as a chest wader and a hip wader, and there is a women's Canyon chest wader. Reinforced knees are listed on the Hellbender and Hellbender PRO chest models and are not listed for the Canyon II chest wader in our data.
Are Frogg Toggs Amphib waders warm?
Amphib waders use 3.5 mm neoprene, which is a warm, flexible material that doesn't breathe. The bootfoot versions list boot insulation of 200 g (the cleated model and the women's wader) or 600 g (the Mossy Oak Bottomland model), and the stockingfoot version has no boot at all. Neoprene suits cold, still water and gets hot and clammy on a long walk.
Do Frogg Toggs make waders for kids?
We track no Frogg Toggs youth waders. The Rana II PVC hip wader listing starts at size 3, which may suit a smaller wearer, but the listing doesn't call it a youth wader and I can't say how it fits a child. Our kids' waders page lists youth waders from other makers, and the youth wader size guide explains the measuring.
How do I size Frogg Toggs waders?
Frogg Toggs publishes size charts on its website, and its buying guide tells you to measure chest, waist, hip and inseam, note your shoe size and follow the manufacturer's chart. Bootfoot models list shoe sizes 7 to 14, with Husky cuts on the Amphib. I don't copy the chart. Our Frogg Toggs size chart guide shows how to use it.
Are Frogg Toggs wading boots felt or rubber?
Several of the boots we track, including the Hellbender, Pilot II and Rana Elite, are listed with a felt or rubber sole option. Felt grips slick rock well and is banned in some states because it can carry invasive species. Frogg Toggs' own buying guide says so too. Check your state's rules before you buy, and read our felt versus rubber guide.
Does Frogg Toggs make wool wader socks?
We track no wool wader socks from Frogg Toggs. The two socks in our data are a synthetic knit Coolmax wader sock, according to the listing, and neoprene wading booties with a gravel guard, which Frogg Toggs lists at 3.5 mm.
