Which HISEA model, if any
Who HISEA is
HISEA's home page says it sells waterproof and rain boots, waders, work safety shoes and apparel, describes its waders as precision-engineered, and offers US and German storefronts. Its footer reads "2009-2026 HISEA Ltd.", which dates the company's copyright and doesn't confirm a founding year. A brand-information page on Lazada says HISEA was founded in 2011 by a group of outdoor enthusiasts who wanted practical gear that balanced performance with affordability, starting with waterproof boots and fishing waders, and that it does not publicize a headquarters. The two dates don't agree and neither is a primary statement of a founding date, so I'm giving you both and not choosing.
A 2021 American Hunter article on the brand's Evos chest waders described 4.5 mm neoprene laminated to nylon jersey and a stretch liner, boots lined with 600 g of 3M Thinsulate Ultra, cleated soles, reinforced knees, quick-release buckles and a lifetime warranty. That article is a good outline of what the brand's neoprene waders are, and it's from 2021, so check the current listing.
What HISEA sells on Amazon US now
At our last check (October 2026) we track nine HISEA waders on Amazon US, shown in the table above. They are bootfoot chest waders and they are mostly neoprene.
- Men's neoprene waders with 200, 600, 800, 1200 and 1400 g boots. All but the 5.5 mm model use 4.5 mm neoprene. Cleated rubber soles are listed on the 200 g and 600 g pairs, and reinforced knees on the 600 g, 1200 g and 1400 g pairs.
- A women's neoprene wader with 400 g boots and reinforced knees.
- A unisex neoprene fishing wader (XSY03A) with 200 g boots.
- Two kids' waders: a 4.5 mm neoprene model and a nylon and PVC model.
Every value for these waders comes from the Amazon listing, and none has a maker page in our data. In the table they carry the "listing" mark. That is a different thing from a spec the maker states, and it matters most for insulation, camo pattern and the use label. Where a cell shows a dash, we could not confirm it. (The camo name is written "Next Camo Evo(s)" in one listing and "Next Camo Evo" in another. The fish haven't noticed.)
How the range is organised
HISEA's model names tell you the boot insulation, so the line is easy to sort.
- 200G (two models): 200 g boots, 4.5 mm neoprene. The men's pair is listed for hunting and the unisex XSY03A for fishing and hunting.
- Women's: 400 g boots, 4.5 mm, fishing and hunting.
- 600G: 600 g boots, 4.5 mm, fishing and hunting.
- 800G: 800 g boots, 4.5 mm, hunting.
- 1200G: 1200 g boots, 4.5 mm, fishing and hunting.
- 1400G: 1400 g boots, 5.5 mm, hunting.
That is the whole decision in miniature. The more boot insulation, the warmer the feet and the heavier the boot. The neoprene is the same 4.5 mm on all but the 1400G.
Neoprene: what you get and what you give up
Neoprene is a foam rubber. It insulates by itself, it is waterproof, and it flexes with you, which is why it has been the standard material for cold-water waders for a long time. The costs are weight, bulk and breathability. Neoprene does not let sweat out, so a long walk in a 4.5 mm wader leaves you wet from the inside. A thicker body, such as the 5.5 mm model, is warmer and stiffer still.
My rule of thumb: buy neoprene if you will be sitting or standing still in cold water, such as a duck blind, a pond bank or a winter stillwater session, and consider breathable if you will walk. Our breathable versus neoprene guide goes through the trade-off, and the neoprene waders page lists the other makers.
Reading the insulation numbers
In a bootfoot wader, the gram figure is the insulation in the boots. It says nothing about the body. A 1400 g wader has warm feet and a body that depends on the 5.5 mm neoprene and whatever you wear under it. If the listing gives no body insulation, don't assume extra. Our guide to what to wear under waders covers the layers.
Pick the boot grams by the temperature and the time you stand still. 200 g is for cool, active use. 600 and 800 g are for cold marsh days. 1200 and 1400 g are for frozen ones. Feet get cold first, which pushes people toward the warmest boot, so be honest about how much you will actually stand still.
HISEA for fly fishing
HISEA's listings describe the waders as for fishing and hunting. For fly fishing, the main question is whether you wade a river or fish still water. A bootfoot neoprene wader suits a pond, a lake edge or a cold-weather stillwater session. It is a poor tool for a river you have to walk, because the boots don't support the ankle as a wading boot does, the neoprene doesn't breathe, and the bulk makes crossing slick rocks harder. For that, look at stockingfoot waders, and read bootfoot vs stockingfoot.
Sizing and fit
The most important sizing step with neoprene is to check the chart for your model and not assume your last wader size carries over. Here is how I'd go about it.
- Check who the model is for. Men's, women's, unisex and kids' models have different cuts. The XSY03A is listed as unisex, which can fit one body better than another.
- Size the boot first. Boots are fixed, and a thick sock changes your size.
- Measure over your layers. Chest, waist, hip and inseam with the base layer and fleece you'd wear in cold water.
- Allow for thick neoprene. A 5.5 mm body takes up room and stiffens at the knee, so check the chart and consider the layers beneath.
- Walk the movements. Step up, squat and kneel.
HISEA's site links a Size & Fit Guide, which I could not open, and the Amazon listings carry sizing. I have not read enough buyer feedback on HISEA fit to summarise it. Our wader size chart guide covers the measuring in more detail.
What to check on a HISEA listing
Because every HISEA spec in our table comes from a listing, the listing is your main evidence, so read it closely.
- Match the title to the product. The model names carry the boot grams, but the listing can bundle several colors and sizes. Make sure the size and camo you pick are the ones the listed specs describe.
- Look for the neoprene thickness. Most are 4.5 mm and one is 5.5 mm. If a listing doesn't state it, we show a dash.
- Find the sole. Cleated rubber is listed on some models and not on others. Check the photos if you will walk on mud.
- Look at the knees and the closures. Reinforced knees matter for kneeling, and quick-release buckles are worth having if you may need to get out fast.
- Check the return window. For a wader you can't try on, a clear return policy is worth more than a feature.
- Ask about the warranty in writing. The site says lifetime, and the terms are what count.
Kids' waders
We track two HISEA kids' waders, a 4.5 mm neoprene model and a nylon and PVC model, both bootfoot chest waders per the listings. Neoprene is the warmer of the two and the nylon and PVC model is the lighter. Measure the child and use the chart, because a wader several sizes too big folds at the knee. Children near water need a life jacket and an adult within reach. A wader does not float, and it fills with water in a fall. See kids' waders and the youth wader size guide.
HISEA warranty
HISEA's home page lists a lifetime warranty and links to warranty and claim pages. The 2021 American Hunter article about its Evos waders also says they come with a lifetime warranty and doesn't describe a claims process. I could not open the terms, so I can't tell you what counts as a defect, whether it's limited to the original owner, whether it covers the boots, or what the remedy is. "Lifetime" in a wader warranty usually has conditions, so ask HISEA for the written terms for your model, and keep the receipt. Our wader repair guide covers fixing small leaks yourself.
Care
Rinse mud and salt off, turn the wader inside out if the maker's care page says it's allowed, hang it to dry out of direct sun, and store it loose. Heat and direct sun are hard on most waders, and a truck bed in August does neither of you any favors. See how to clean waders and how to store waders.
Wear a belt
In moving or deep water, a chest wader can fill, and a fall in cold water is dangerous. Wear a snug wading belt, use a wading staff in current, move slowly, and don't wade water you can't see through. The chest waders page explains the height, and insulated waders lists the warm pairs we track.

Questions about HISEA
Where can I find the HISEA waders size chart?
HISEA's site links a Size & Fit Guide, and the Amazon listings carry sizing for each model, but I could not open the guide to read it, so I don't give you its numbers. I also don't copy size charts. Measure your chest, waist, hip, inseam and shoe size over the layers you will wear, and compare them with the chart for your model. Check whether the model is men's, women's, unisex or kids', because the cuts differ.
Are HISEA waders waterproof and warm?
The neoprene models list 4.5 mm neoprene (5.5 mm on one) and boots with 200, 400, 600, 800, 1200 or 1400 g of insulation per the Amazon listings. Neoprene is waterproof and warm in itself. The gram figure is the boot insulation, not the body. The 200 g models are meant for mild cold, and the higher numbers are for frozen marsh.
What is the HISEA warranty?
HISEA's site lists a lifetime warranty and links to warranty and claim pages, and a 2021 American Hunter article about its Evos waders also says they come with a lifetime warranty. I could not open the terms, so I can't tell you what counts as a defect, who is covered or what the remedy is. Ask HISEA for the written terms for your model before you buy.
Are HISEA waders good for fly fishing?
They are neoprene bootfoot waders, which are warm and waterproof and suit still water, shallow ponds and cold-weather fishing. For a river you walk, a breathable stockingfoot wader with a separate boot is the usual choice, because neoprene doesn't breathe and a bootfoot doesn't support the ankle as a wading boot does. Our stockingfoot waders page lists them.
Do HISEA make kids' waders?
Yes. We track a Kids Chest Waders 4.5 mm Neoprene model and a Kids Chest Waders Nylon/PVC model, both bootfoot chest waders per the listings. Kids need a life jacket and an adult within reach near deep water, because waders do not float. Our kids' waders page and the youth wader size guide cover the measuring.
How do I choose between the HISEA 200G, 600G, 800G, 1200G and 1400G waders?
Choose by how cold you will be standing still. The 200 g models are the lightest. The 600 g and 800 g models suit cold marsh work, and the 1200 g and 1400 g ones are the warmest in the range. The 1400 g model is also the thickest, at 5.5 mm neoprene. More insulation means more weight and less comfort on a walk.
Are HISEA waders sold anywhere except Amazon?
HISEA's own site lists US and German storefronts, and a 2021 article said its Evos waders were available from HISEA. Which retailers carry which model changes, so check the listing you are looking at and the maker's site.
