Redington Wader Size Chart: How to Size Discontinued Waders

There is no current Redington wader size chart to point you to, because Redington has discontinued its waders and I did not find a maker chart on the pages I opened. If you own a pair, or you are looking at one secondhand, you can still size it the standard way: measure chest, waist, hips and inseam, check your shoe size, and compare those numbers to whatever chart came with the pair or to the listing. This guide covers how to do that, what to check on a used pair, how to size current waders from other makers, and what Far Bank's refund-or-credit policy says about the old ones.

Old waders hung on a hook with a tape measure below

Short answer

There is no current Redington wader size chart, and I am not going to invent one. Redington has discontinued its waders. Flylords reported on October 22, 2024 that the brand would concentrate on its core rods and reels, and Far Bank's own warranty page now calls the wading products discontinued. The Redington pages I opened do not link a size chart, so for a Redington pair the label on the pair and the seller's measurements are the only guide I can point you to.

If you own a pair, you do not need the chart to size a replacement. You need your own measurements and the maker's chart for the replacement. The rest of this page explains how, and what to check if you are looking at a used pair.

For the brand itself, see the Redington brand page, which covers the rods, outfits and reels we track on Amazon US.

Measuring the chest with a plain tape

Measure yourself first

The frogg toggs buying guide says wader sizing is based on chest, waist, hip and inseam measurements plus shoe size, and that you should check the manufacturer's chart. SITKA names the measuring points like this:

Wear the layers you will wear in the water, or at least thin base layers. Write the numbers down. If a seller tells you "size Large", you need to turn that into the numbers behind it, because Large is not a measurement.

If you already own a pair

Look inside the pair for the sewn-in label and any hangtag. A label with a size and a fit name is useful, but it only has meaning against the chart for that model. If you no longer have the chart:

  1. Lay the waders flat and measure the width across the chest and the inseam seam to the foot.
  2. Put them on over the layers you wear and do a deep knee bend, sit down and step up onto a chair. You should not feel pulling in the thighs, hips or knees.
  3. Keep the measurements in a note, so the next pair can be sized from numbers.

This works for any maker, and it gets you a replacement that fits the same way. (The Hook Drawer will have the original chart. It always does, and it will be under three expired receipts.)

Inspecting a used pair of waders on a table

If you are buying a used pair

I can't vouch for any used listing, and Far Bank's refund-or-credit policy covers the original purchaser's proof of purchase, so don't count on a warranty. Before you buy:

Sizing rules that apply to every maker

SITKA's advice is to use the chart for the specific brand and product line, because sizing differs between brands and even between models from the same brand. It also says that if you are between sizes you should size up, especially for bootfoot waders, because the extra room fits thick socks and a tight boot compresses socks and leaves your feet cold. Bootfoot waders have the boot built in, so you buy one thing and the boot size is fixed. Stockingfoot waders end in a neoprene sock and are worn with separate wading boots, so you size the boot separately with the wader sock on.

Signs of a poor fit, from the general advice:

Waders should feel roomy but not baggy. Too tight strains the seams. Too loose lets fabric fold at the knee and wear.

Redington wading boots

Redington's wading boots are discontinued as well, and the Far Bank policy page treats them the same way as the waders. I did not find a maker size chart for them either. Start from your regular shoe size and try boots on over the wader socks you will wear. Our wading boots section lists current boots, each with its own sizing information from the maker.

Holding old waders to the light to find a leak

What to do with an old pair that leaks

Far Bank's policy says the refund or credit windows depend on the purchase date. For purchases before October 1, 2024, a failure within 60 days gets a refund and a failure after 60 days and within 365 days gets credit on FarBank.com equal to the purchase price. For purchases on or after that date, the page lists a refund for failures within 60 days. You send the product freight paid and insured, with proof of purchase, and it must be washed and dried first. If the failure is outside those windows, a patch may be the answer, and our wader repair guide explains pinholes, tears and seams.

Choosing a replacement

Once you have your numbers, start from the type of wader you want. The waders page lets you filter by construction, foot type and height. Our types of waders guide explains the choices in plain words, and the general wader size chart guide links the maker charts that do exist. For the Redington warranty in full, including the rod terms, see the Redington warranty guide.

Questions people ask

Where is the Redington wader size chart?

I could not find a maker chart. The pages I opened do not link one, and Redington has discontinued its wader line. If you have the pair, look for the paper hangtag or the label sewn into it. If you are buying one, the listing or seller is where the sizing information has to come from, and it is worth asking for the measurements.

Does Redington still make waders?

No. Reporting from October 22, 2024 says Redington will concentrate on rods and reels, and Far Bank's warranty page describes the wading products as discontinued. At our last check (October 2026) we found no Redington waders on Amazon US.

What size Redington waders should I buy?

I can't give you a Redington-specific size, because I have no maker chart. Measure your chest, waist, hips and inseam, and note your shoe size. Compare them to the label or chart for the exact pair. If you are between sizes, the SITKA sizing advice I read says to size up, especially for bootfoot waders.

Can I return Redington waders?

Per Far Bank's policy, qualifying failures are handled with a refund or store credit, not repair or replacement. For purchases before October 1, 2024, a failure within 60 days gets a refund and a failure after 60 days and within 365 days gets credit. For purchases on or after that date, the page lists a refund for failures within 60 days. You need proof of purchase, and the product must be washed and dried before you return it.

What should I buy instead of Redington waders?

Start with the type you want, then the fit. Our waders page lets you filter by construction, foot type and height. Use the maker's own chart for whichever pair you pick, since sizing differs between makers and between models from the same maker.
